We use the best quality ingredients in our meals. One of our core values is to be as transparent as possible, so we have decided to share who our fantastic local suppliers are.
Our Organic Vegetables
Our vegetables are from Wayside Organics, an organic smallholding set in the village of Oving, at the base of the South Downs in West Sussex (Soil Association registration number GB5 G1510/P5555). As well as already growing organically, their plants are potted in recycled pots, their veg boxes and packaging is recyclable and all green waste is composted for reuse on the holding itself.
Our Sustainably Sourced Fish
Our fish is from Johnson's Enterprises which is a family run seafood business based in Portsmouth. All their fish is caught only by bonafide registered UK fishermen and sustainably sourced from UK stocks. Records for all fish bought by Johnson’s Enterprises are collected by M.M.O (Marine Management Organisation) officers, weekly.
Our Free Range Beef and pork
Our meat is from our local butcher, Meat in the Square Angmering. Dave the butcher has been out all over Sussex and Hampshire sourcing the finest meat he can. The Beef comes from farms within a 15 mile radius. They are hand picked to Dave's specification, and this helps to maintain high quality meat all year round. The animals go to a small, family run abattoir in Henfield, so we keep the air miles and our carbon footprint down too. Free range Pork from Scotts of Storrington, and their Beef mainly comes from local tried and trusted farms such as Gadds at Fittleworth, Starleys at Henfield and Passmores at Coombes Farm, Lancing.
Our Organic Dry Goods
We source our dry goods (pasta, lentils, spices, tinned tomatoes, tomato paste) from Infinity Foods. They are one of the UK’s leading national distributors of high quality, organic, biodynamic, fairtrade and natural products. They are committed to supporting organic agriculture and are members of the Soil Association ((Soil Association registration number P1465/ WA01465/ DC01465).
